About
I truly enjoy meeting with people to discuss the struggles that they are having, and to find ways to help. I started my career working at a children's psychiatric hospital in 2003 and worked both with the patients and their families in this role. I then went and worked at an agency providing home based services to Rhode Island's most vulnerable children and families that were at risk of abuse and neglect. It was in doing this that I realized I truly enjoyed working with people and learning both their strengths and where they wanted to grow. I really enjoyed listening and being able to explore the areas they were being challenged in and how they felt about themselves. I am best able to do this and fulfill this need in private practice. I did go to a practice where I was able to see how wonderful this experience was and how good it felt to help others.
I started A Penny For Your Thoughts Wellness LLC in January of 2023 to continue this vision and this goal of making a difference for those I work with. I am here to support your emotional health during these very stressful times and am accepting new patients through video or phone call appointments.

Where the name A Penny For Your Thoughts Wellness came from
As I was thinking about starting this company here was a lot of thought into a name and what I wanted this to be. I knew I wanted the name to be something that meant something to me and something I felt connected to. Penny was where this started and wanting to use this as part of the name. Penny was my first dog and gave me the honor of being a mom for the first time. If there is anything to stand by and always have love for it would be her. She was a West Highland Terrier and was the most amazing dog. She lived until she was just about 14 and sadly passed away in January of 2022. This is my way of honoring her and how supportive she was to me. Using her name allows her memory to stay alive as I offer this same emotional support to those I have the privilege to work with.
A bit about me
I am a proud mom and wife and can understand the struggles when it comes to both parenting and marriage. I have been married for almost 15 years and have 2 wonderful school aged children. Parenting can be the most rewarding, yet frustrating experience and I know this first hand! I am an animal lover and have dogs and cats and believe in how supportive animals can be. I have 2 Alaskan Malamutes that are a big part of my own self care and remind me to take breaks and demand attention to be played with. In my free time, I will spend time with both my immediate and extended family and friends, go camping whenever I can, curl up to watch a movie or reading a good book. I enjoy taking pictures and spending as much time as I can with my daughters.
The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.
